Voyager:

Les voyages sont la source d’inspiration la plus importante. Le travail se développe le long de deux lignes : D’une part il y a le trésor des impressions et des observations, emmenés comme bagage spirituel (pris le long de la route ) est le répertoire auquel les éléments sont empruntés, filtrés par les souvenirs et l’imagination personnelle. D’autre part il y a toujours le défi de la toile blanche, sur laquelle une composition convaincante doit apparaître. Les images se composent littéralement a nouveau. C’est une tendance intuitive jusqu’au réarrangement et à la disposition dans un contexte nouveau.
Peindre est voyager à nouveau.
Chaque œuvre est un voyage de découverte. C’est la recherche pour simplifier la composition et l’art de la réduction jusqu’à ce qu’il reste l’essentiel : Fragments d’un mur, les éléments d’une porte ou d’un volet et surtout « la couleur locale «

Travel:

Source of inspiration are voyages made through: Portugal, China, Turkey, Tuscany, Marocco, Brazil, Nepal, India and the South of France. The work develops along two lines: On the one hand there is a treasure of impressions and observation, picked up along the way, becoming spiritual baggage. This is the repertoire from which elements are borrowed, filtered by recollection and personal imagination. On the other hand there isover and again the challenge of the blank canvas on which to create a convincing composition. Images are literally composed anew. This is an intuitive urge to order and rearrange a new connection.
To paint is to travel again. Each work is a voyage of discovery. It is the quest to simplify the composition and the art of reducing, until the most essential remains: fragments of a wall, elements as a door or a shutter and above all the loca1 colour

Reizen

De in de afgelopen zes jaar gemaakte reizen vormen de belangrijkste inspiratiebron voor een serie werken olieverf op doek en collages/pastel op papier.
Tijdens het reizen wordt een schat aan indrukken en observaties opgedaan. Deze impressies worden als innerlijke bagage weer mee naar huis genomen.
Uit het op deze wijze ontstane repertoire worden elementen ontleend die gefilterd worden door herinneringen en persoonlijke verbeelding.
Het witte vlak, doek of papier, is altijd een uitdaging. Hierop moet een overtuigende compositie ontstaan. De beelden worden als het ware opnieuw gecomponeerd. Het is een intuïtieve drang tot herschikking en ordening in een nieuw verband. Het schilderen is het zoeken naar vereenvoudiging van de compositie en de kunst van het weglaten.
Zo blijft uiteindelijk het meest essentiële over: fragmenten van een muur, elementen als een deur of een luik en vooral de “couleur locale “.
Op deze manier wordt het schilderen een vorm van opnieuw reizen, en is ieder werk steeds een ontdekkingsreis
